About the project
The challenges
The main challenges were driven by the complex structure and flexibility of the platform.
The core trading workspace had to be fully customizable: users can rearrange widgets, resize them, and adapt the layout to their personal trading workflows. At the same time, all widgets had to remain responsive and usable within a dynamic workspace.
Different financial instruments could also be traded across multiple tabs.
In financial products, poor UX can directly lead to financial loss, which immediately impacts user trust and brand reputation. This required deep attention to error handling, system states, and clarity of feedback at every step.

What was done
The project followed a structured design studio framework, we held weekly sync calls with the client, combining our design expertise with the client’s deep knowledge of trading mechanics and financial workflows.
We conducted a detailed review of key DEX and CEX platforms such as Binance, Bybit, Uniswap, and dYdX, as well as advanced investment and analytics tools like TradingView. This helped us understand established interaction patterns, user expectations, and industry standards.
We began with low-fidelity wireframes, focusing on information architecture, layout logic, and interaction flows ensuring that design and content never interfered with trading actions.
Next, we moved to high-fidelity wireframes, where we aligned interaction mechanics with real content and complex data structures.
At the UI stage, we explored 2–3 visual directions for the core trading and portfolio screens. One direction was selected by the client and then scaled across the entire product.
During the responsive phase, a junior designer joined the team. Together, we finalized adaptive layouts for tablet and mobile and handed the project over to the client’s development team, delivering design system components, full state coverage, and detailed interaction annotations.

Conclusion
This project is one of the most complex cases in my portfolio. It involved tight deadlines, high communication intensity, and a large amount of business logic that had to be translated into a clear, reliable user experience.
The collaboration with the client was especially strong. When complex scenarios required clarification, they provided detailed feedback and Loom recordings, demonstrating real trading cases and edge conditions, which significantly improved design accuracy.
As this was a design studio project, I cannot share post-launch metrics. However, the final solution delivered a scalable UX foundation, a cohesive visual language, and a significantly improved interaction model for a highly complex FinTech product.
